Living Curiously

When what you think you know about your life collides with the pesky truth of reality… Living curiously could be the best remedy.

There’s an old saying that goes: “Curiosity killed the cat,” but for us humans, it not only doesn’t kill us, but it will open new doors of inspiration and add years of wisdom to our lives.

This week’s episode of Between the Lines features a most charming guest with a unique passion. Her name is Becki Saltzman and she is a “curiosity expert” whose career is all about helping others find their own path to curiosity. One key reason this is so relevant is that according to Becki it helps us by, “viewing failure with curiosity instead of fear.”

Another aspect, of particular interest, was that during our conversation Becki revealed that curiosity also helps us fall back in love with our own lives and can rub off on others to help them do the same. What I found most curious about curiosity is that: “Living curiously is not about endless inquiry. It is about uncovering what you need to know.” Plus, one of the key elements of it all according to Becki is, “becoming comfortable with not knowing.”

Besides this special episode, this is also a special time for many viewers and readers as they celebrate Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur. To all of you observing the holidays and to those who may not, I wish you all a very sweet, happy, and healthy New Year. In the Jewish tradition this time is known also as “The Days of Awe.” It is a time of deep introspection and no better moment than now to start living a curious life.

In addition to it all, this week is my Dad’s 90th Birthday and without a doubt he has provided for me a most wonderful and joyous life. Thank you Pop for all you’ve done and for continuing to encourage my curiosity. I’m also looking forward to sharing many more with you.

Enjoy the show, have a great week and a wonderful holiday.
