YOUR INNER BRAND

Embrace the uncertainties and challenge the illusion of defeat.
Brian Smith
Since the only thing we can be certain of are the uncertainties we will face, our only option is to embrace the feeling of the unknown. Like all wisdom, the concept may be easy to grasp, but its implementation into our being is the tricky part.
My guest this week, on most of our PBS stations, is Brian Smith, the founder of the world renowned UGG boots. Through his own trials and tribulations he discovered insights that will aid in putting into practice the ability to deal with difficult challenges.
Our conversation, about his book, The Birth of a Brand, focuses on his journey and struggles to build his business, while being filled with wisdom and insight he imbibed through the process.
The secret is to find joy every day in some part of your work that energizes and inspires you, so that what you do daily is not really working.

Of course, we all search for what we would love to do, but finding that magic within ourselves is a difficult challenge. In fact, for those who are lucky, hopefully it finds you.
However, if you are antsy like me, we cannot comfortably sit around and wait. Brian gives us something we can do even without knowing where it will take us.
When you take those first baby steps, you don’t have to know exactly where you are going to end up.

So journey forth. You may not know where you will end up, but if you take those baby steps you just might nudge yourself closer to finding YOUR INNER BRAND.
Enjoy the episode and have a great week,
Barry
