We all know that life is a mystery, but with a bit of deductive reasoning wouldn’t it be possible to surmise that the constant solving of the mystery itself and the appreciation of that is what makes life worth living?
My guest this week knows all about mystery and the affect it has on us all. He is one of America’s most prolific thriller writers, the renowned Michael Connelly.
With over 50 million books sold Michael has explored mysteries from all angles and his leading man Harry Bosch is the perfect person to experience it through.
The complexity of Michael’s books and Bosch as a person, are such intriguing mysteries that Amazon Prime TV is releasing their NEW EXCLUSIVE SERIES BOSCH this week based on the beloved books.
The incredibly talented Titus Welliver (veteran of the wonderful Deadwood) is bringing the enigmatic detective to life, and from the look of the trailer below we are in for a deep and layered crime drama fitting of its protagonist.
My conversation with Michael about his most recent book, The Burning Room, looks at Harry Bosch not as a fictional character, but as a real man going through his own mystery of life.
Through our discussion we find out how this beloved detective feels about aging, what he wants to leave behind, how he wants to be remembered and his fears of what the future may hold. An interpersonal mystery ALL can relate to.
The good ones all had that hollow space inside. The empty place where the fire always burns for something.
–Harry Bosch, The Burning Room–
Check out the series on AMAZONand our conversation on Between the Lines. Who knows, you may just find out the mystery of life.
