This week debuting on most of our stations is an episode featuring John Murphy. Our conversation revolves around his book, Zentrepreneur. John’s premise is that our minds are full of ideas, but will not manifest into results unless we act on them.

Our work must be our play. Our passion must be aligned with our purpose. We all have a calling and we know it when we make the connection. We know it when we feel it.

Even if we know what to do, knowing how to do it is what makes the difference. This requires, according to John: “That we balance the intelligence of our heart with the intellect of our mind.” As beautiful as that sounds I find it difficult to do because its hard to figure out the difference between my heart and mind. One key piece of advice John gives is:

Listen to your soul. It is the one thing about you that is not temporary.

One dear soul whose physical realm moved on this past week, but soul is still connected, was comedian David Brenner. David was a dear friend of our show and a most wonderful guest.

He was not only a legendary comedian, but a profound observer of the human condition. His wisdom was incorporated into his comedy and I’ll never forget something he said on our show. We somehow started discussing the great divide between those on the left and right of the political spectrum. David was angered by the way politicians and pundits did everything to emphasize and manufacture this divide. David believed that there was much more that connected us than divided us. With that in mind he said the following:

Remember folks, even the great American eagle needs two wings to fly!

Thank you David for gracing us with your humor and your insights and I know you are now entertaining a whole new audience.
